About Us

Clearware.org is founded to help make sense of software and is guided by the fundamental principle that all computer users have a right to understand the terms or conditions of software end-user license agreemnts (or online terms of services) before deciding whether to purchase, install or use the associated software or service.

As the lack of informed consent is the deciding facter for bad software, license agreements become increasingly important for computer users, software vendors and service providers. Unfortunately, these license agreements are frequently too long, ambiguous and incospicuous for average computer users to understand. Clearware.org guides software vendors and service providers on how to describe and represent the terms and conditions of license agreements in a friendlier way to improve consumer awareness on issues that impact control over the user's experience, privacy and system security.
